For years, two processes can be observed in the public service media: the hierarchization of programming responsibility and the formatting of the program. We will talk with Sabine Rollberg about how to bypass these processes and how to come into contact with commissioning editors. Competence shifts and hierarchies have reached an unprecedented level in editorial offices.
The formatting of documentary film is flattening and devaluing the program as a whole. The many commissioning editors who take the mission of public TV seriously cannot be indifferent to this.

Sabine Rollberg’s text on this can be found in the anthology of the German Academy for Television (DAFF) on the topic of
The future of media (eds. Thorolf Lipp, Dieter Wiedemann).
The complete book is available for purchase, but is also available as an Open Access download. here
